Sending Positive Vibes to Andrew - Make it Pink Newsletter

Heirloom worthy Cross Stitch designs

Hi everyone ❤️

A little serious life news before I move on with the rest of this month's art update. Last week my partner Andrew became seriously ill and was transported via helicopter to a bigger hospital, and was recommended for a liver transplant. We aren't out of danger yet but the specialized team there is no longer recommending the transplant and is comfortable enough with his condition to transfer him back to the smaller location.

It has been an absolute rollercoaster of a week, and I'm sure none of you blame me for halting all work at this time. I still don't know when he will be well enough to come home, what our new "normal" will be, how many follow up visits there will be, or even if he could crash again. They don't know what caused this to happen. One of the many doctors I've spoken with told me they may never know.

I appreciate everyone's patience, understanding, and well wishes. Many people reached out to me and checked in, and it was relieving to have so much support. Never did I feel like I was alone in this. Everyone on his medical team has been fantastic. Please continue sending good thoughts, vibes, and prayers his direction as you're able... he needs all the positive energy he can get.

Now: onto art.

String Theory Needlearts have been experimenting with specialty Thread Packs for my designs, with a focus on the designs that were voted highest in demand. They have been listing them fresh on alternating Thursdays, so the next drop should be on July 2nd.

On the same strain, I still have to finish doing my part for the conversion lists for Kreinik to the other brands. It's a very large spreadsheet at the moment but I do believe between STN and myself, and the other stitchers who are contributing, that we will have a finalized sheet "soon". (Life allowing...)

I was in the middle of finalizing colors with my mom for the next Patreon Early Access design, Hannah Alexander's Raven, when all of this happened. Please don't be mad if there's a slight delay in her release.

The other large project for me this month was a private commission, which I'm nearing 20 hours work in. The commission set aside the smaller Hanae Kariko designs that I was finishing, which are similar to Raven at the end stage of color selection. Just needs a little more polish for release.

Newest Patterns

Raven from Hannah Alexander (this is her false color map, don't worry), available for Early Access in July

Princess Celestia from Sunset Dragon, available in Early Access until July 1st

Catwoman from Hannah Alexander, available in Early Access until July 1st

Karlach from Hannah Alexander

I will probably release Harley Quinn from Hannah Alexander next month as well, I just feel bad that she's finished and has been for a whole year and lost a couple release polls.

Patreon members also finished voting on my Pattern Focus for the next few months. The plan is:

  • Finish Raven and the commission
  • Finish Hannah Alexander's eeveelutions
  • revamp the WoW designs so Frenone's artwork can properly go back into rotation
  • get to work on one of Alphonse Mucha's Evening/Morning/Pole Stars

I already know that I will have some speed bumps around September and November. There won't be a Black Friday sale but there may be a December sale, pending.

There will be another poll up when I'm able for the next Early Access pick and pattern focus on the Muchas. :)

Happy stitching!

Thank you everyone so, so much for all the positive messages and thoughts that came our way. My partner has been recovering and should be headed back to normal life soon. He is still doing dialysis and there will be follow up visits, but the trajectory is positive. The next patterns are Hannah Alexander's Jolteon and Vaporeon, followed by the result of the poll below....

The new Early Access patterns are out, featuring Catwoman and Princess Celestia. :) Both are super glittery and I hope to see them come to life in your WIP photos. 💖 And with their release, of course, Karlach and Poison Ivy are now public designs! A reminder that the main benefit of joining in on Early Access is that they have a built in discount of $5 until they become...

I was hoping to save this newsletter as an "aha, I've finished my craft room!" with before and after photos, but I'm just shy of finished and I really need to get back to work. :) I hope to finish in the coming weekends, as I'm *so close* but... so far. At least for the most part I can reach all my materials now, even if they aren't all in their final organized homes!...
